Redmi K100 Three Days Out: 10,000mAh Battery, D2 Gaming Chip and Everything Confirmed So Far

Redmi’s K100 is three days from launch, and it is already the most fully previewed phone in the K100 family. The base K100 launches in China on Tuesday, October 27 at 7pm local time (4pm PKT), alongside Redmi’s Clip Neo open-ear earphones, with pre-reservations already open. Where the K100 Pro and Pro Max, launched in August, chased cameras and newer chips, the standard K100 chases two things: the biggest battery Redmi has ever fitted, and gaming performance that does not fade. One date note first: a couple of earlier reports cited October 28, but the current consensus — including Redmi’s own Weibo announcement as reported by multiple outlets — is October 27, and that is the date to plan around.

The battery is the story, and Redmi knows it
The 10,000mAh cell is the largest battery ever fitted to a Redmi phone and larger than the 8,580mAh in the K100 Pro and the 9,070mAh in the Pro Max. Redmi’s own endurance claims are aggressive: more than 29 hours of short-video playback, over 24 hours of live streaming, more than 47 hours of music, over 18 hours of navigation and up to 1,000 short drama episodes. Those are manufacturer figures and should be read as such, but the direction is unambiguous — this is a phone built for two-day use, and the 100W charging plus bypass charging mean it is also built to be topped up fast and gamed while plugged in without cooking itself. The K100 joins a genuine battery race this year: Honor’s Power2 and the Realme P4 Power have both crossed 10,000mAh, and an 11,000mAh Magic 9 variant exists. The base K100’s claim to stand out is not the number alone but the combination of the number with a gaming chip and a 165Hz screen.
The D2 chip does the gaming work
The Snapdragon 8 Elite inside the K100 is Qualcomm’s 2024 flagship — a generation behind the Gen 5 chips in the Pro models, but still a powerful processor. What the base model adds is the D2 dedicated gaming display chip, which handles frame generation and image upscaling. Redmi’s published test figures put numbers on it: with frame boost on in Honor of Kings at maximum graphics, the K100 held 144fps while cutting average power draw by 1.1W and peak temperature by 3.9°C. More than 40 games natively support 165fps on the phone, with over 100 more supported through frame interpolation. The camera, by contrast, is deliberately modest for the family: a 50MP main sensor is confirmed, but the second rear lens is still unnamed, and wireless charging — 50W on both Pro models — has not been announced for the base K100 at all.
Where it sits in the family
The K100 lineup now has a clear shape. The Pro (from CNY 3,699) is the smaller flagship with a 185Hz screen and a 200MP camera; the Pro Max (from CNY 4,499) adds the full Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 6.9-inch 185Hz display, a 50MP periscope and a 50MP ultrawide. The base K100 trades the newer chip and the camera stack for the biggest battery, the D2 chip and the newest software, HyperOS 4 on Android 17. Its price is the one number still missing: a report cited by Gadgets360 puts the starting price around CNY 3,500, but Redmi has not announced it, so treat that as rumor. Our Redmi K100 product page will be updated with the official China prices and converted expected Pakistan figures once the launch lands.
For buyers in Pakistan, the wait continues past October 27. The K100 is a China launch, and any Pakistan arrival — official or imported — has no confirmed date or price. What the launch will settle is the full specification sheet and the price ladder, and both matter for the import market that usually brings Redmi’s K series to Pakistan first.
