What Xiaomi Already Confirmed
Xiaomi Bangladesh confirmed the Redmi 17 5G launch for 3 November 2026 through its official Facebook teasers, and the launch event has now filled in the details the preview could only promise. The phone goes on sale in Bangladesh in Black and Vivid Orange, and it is available at Xiaomi-authorised stores and retail partners across the country. One point of care for buyers: a separate 4G Redmi 17 launched earlier in Bangladesh. It is a different phone from the Redmi 17 5G, and nothing from that model carries over to this one — including its price.
What the Launch Confirms
The reported specification sheet held up in full, and the event added a few details of its own. The Redmi 17 5G carries a 6.9-inch IPS LCD display at 720×1600 with an adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz, a Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chip, Android 16 with HyperOS 3, a 50MP AI dual camera with a 2MP depth sensor and an 8MP selfie camera, and 1080p video recording. The battery is a 7,500mAh unit with 45W turbo charging — Xiaomi claims 96 minutes to a full charge and 35 minutes for a day’s power — plus up to 22.5W wired reverse charging. Newly confirmed at launch: Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, a Dynamic RGB light on the back, IP64 dust and splash resistance, stereo speakers, NFC, and a 232g body at 8.8mm thick.
Official Price and Variants
Xiaomi Bangladesh launched the Redmi 17 5G in a single official variant: 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage, priced at BDT 31,999. That is the official price, confirmed by Xiaomi Bangladesh’s launch announcement and carried on Xiaomi’s Bangladesh product page. The 6GB of RAM can be extended to 12GB with memory extension, which is where the “12+128GB” label on Xiaomi’s product page comes from — it is not a separate 12GB variant. Two figures readers may meet elsewhere are not the official price and should not be mistaken for it. The 4G Redmi 17’s price belongs to a different phone, and the unofficial market listings around BDT 27,000–29,000 are unofficial stock without Xiaomi’s official warranty channel. The official, warrantied buy is BDT 31,999.
What It Means for Buyers in Pakistan
No Pakistan launch has been announced, so the Bangladesh launch matters here as an import and expected-price watch. The official BDT 31,999 price is now the first solid anchor for what an imported unit might cost, before any Pakistan pricing exists. Until a Pakistan launch or official import listing appears, any Pakistan figure for this phone is still guesswork, and this post will not carry one.
What to Watch
Watch for the first import listings in Pakistan and what they charge over the BDT 31,999 anchor, and for whether Xiaomi brings the phone to Pakistan officially. The phone’s case now rests on confirmed ground: a 7,500mAh battery, 5G and a 120Hz display at a budget price, against an HD+ LCD and a heavy 232g body.
