Samsung Galaxy A36 Gets One UI 9 Update in Europe: 2.38GB Download Rolling Out Now

Samsung’s One UI 9 update has reached the Galaxy A36 in Europe, a week after the rollout began in South Korea. The update brings Android 17 to one of Samsung’s best-selling mid-range phones as a 2.38GB over-the-air download, and the wider regional rollout is now underway.

What the update contains

The European build is A366BXXUCDZIF, and it carries the 5 September 2026 security patch level alongside Android 17 and One UI 9. One UI 9 is the current Samsung interface generation — our One UI explainer covers the feature set in detail, including the changes Samsung has layered over stock Android 17. At 2.38GB, the update is a full operating-system upgrade rather than a monthly patch, so it needs a Wi-Fi connection and a charged battery before it will install.

How the rollout works

Samsung staggers updates by region and model, and the A36’s pattern is typical: South Korea first last week, Europe this week, and further regions in the following days. If the update notification has not appeared on a European A36 yet, that is normal — the rollout is gradual by design, and checking manually under Settings, then Software update, then Download and install will catch it as soon as the phone’s region is switched on.

What it means for A36 owners in Pakistan

Pakistan-market A36 units follow their regional firmware queue rather than the European one, so the European start does not mean the update is available here today. It does mean the A36’s One UI 9 build is final and moving, which historically puts the local rollout a few weeks behind the first regions rather than months. There is nothing to install from unofficial sources in the meantime — sideloading another region’s firmware risks the phone’s CSC configuration and update path. When the local build lands, it will arrive as the same Android 17 package, and the phone’s remaining update entitlement continues from there.
