Motorola Edge 40 Review & Practical Analysis
The Motorola Edge 40 is a pretty good mid-range smartphone, quite sleek and lightweight, mixing some high-end design elements with solid performance for day-to-day use. On the front, you have this really nice 6.55-inch curved P-OLED display, which is quite smooth because it has a 144Hz refresh rate. It also supports HDR10+ and can get quite bright, up to 1,200 nits peak brightness. Inside, the phone runs on a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 8͏020 processor. It comes with 8GB of RAM and storage options up to 256GB, using fast UFS 3.1, so it handles multitasking well and daily operations feel responsive, all on a clean version of Android 13.
One thing th͏at makes it stand out for its price point is how it is built. It even has an IP68 rating, mea͏ning it resists dust and water, which is good. Also, some versions come with an eco-leather back, which feels quite premium. For taking pictures, there is a 50MP main camera on the back. It has a wide f/1.4 aperture, uses multi-directional PDAF, and includes OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) which is great for low-l͏ight photos. Beside that, there is also a 13MP ultrawide lens, and it has autofocus. Powering all of this is a 4,400mAh battery. When it needs charging, you get 68W TurboPower wired charging and 15W wireless charging. While it does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack, its slim design, that curved display, and the features it packs make it a strong choice in the mid-range category.
