iQOO 16 India Launch Confirmed as Indonesia Certification Clears the Way for Global Rollout

The iQOO 16 is moving toward a global launch on two fronts at once. iQOO has confirmed the phone for India, where CEO Nipun Marya showcased it at the Snapdragon event held during the India Mobile Congress 2026, and the phone has now cleared certification in Indonesia — the regulatory step that usually comes just before a launch in a new market.

The phone launched in China on 29 September 2026, and it is already listed on phoneprice.com.pk. The question now is when it reaches the rest of the world, and at what price.

India: confirmed, but no date yet

iQOO’s own community page confirms the India launch and says Marya showcased the phone at the IMC 2026 Snapdragon event, including the Chasing Light colour with its red holographic pattern and blue light effect. No launch date has been announced.

The community post, published in mid-October, said the phone was expected to launch “this month” — that window has now passed without a launch. The latest tip, from 91mobiles, points to a mid-December launch in India instead. The confirmation itself is real; the date is still a rumour.

Indonesia: the certification step

On 5 November 2026, the iQOO 16 (model I2607) received SDPPI approval in Indonesia, filed by PT Vivo Mobile Indonesia. The approval was spotted by tipster Anvin (@ZionsAnvin) and reported by MyMobileIndia. Certification is a regulatory step, not a launch announcement — but it is the step that comes before one.

Early signs of a wider rollout were already there: an EEC certification and a global-firmware Geekbench listing had been reported before the Indonesia approval. Some leaks have suggested the phone may skip India entirely; the India confirmation and the IMC showcase make that unlikely now.

The camera setup is three 50MP sensors: a 1/1.3-inch main sensor at f/1.68, a 50MP periscope with 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide. Vivo’s own lab figure for the 16GB + 1TB version is an AnTuTu score of 5,574,521. The colours are Chasing Light, Legend and Racetrack, with the Chasing Light version the lightest at 229.8g.

The India price has not been announced. The China base model works out to roughly ₹85,000, and the iQOO 15 launched in India at ₹85,999 — the iQOO 16 is expected to cost more, with rising memory and component costs cited as the reason.

What happens next

The pieces are in place for a December launch window in India, with Indonesia following. The mid-December tip is unconfirmed, and iQOO has not given a date for either market. What is confirmed is that the phone is coming to India, it has cleared Indonesia’s regulator, and the global version is already showing up in benchmarks. The next signal to watch is a launch date announced by iQOO.
