Xiaomi has published its global HyperOS 4 release schedule, and the rollout is already under way. The company’s global HyperOS page lists 82 devices — 67 phones and 15 tablets, by our count of Xiaomi’s own list — across three waves: early November, mid-November and December 2026. Xiaomi notes the schedule is estimated and can change by region, carrier, model and development progress, and that the order of models in each wave is not the exact release sequence.
HyperOS 4 is Xiaomi’s Android 17-based release, per the Android 17 rollout coverage tracking it. The headline changes are visual: a “soft light glass” material across the system, reworked widgets, and a new lock-screen and home-screen flow. Underneath, Xiaomi points to Precision Workload Scheduling, AI-driven Memory Preloading, and re-engineered first-party apps.
What is new
Xiaomi’s own lab figures, measured on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra against HyperOS 3, claim the total hot-launch time for 30 apps after nine hours of use falls from 40.3 seconds to 36.8 seconds, rear-camera HDR capture cold launch drops from 313.38ms to 240.16ms, and the average frame-drop rate falls from 2.92% to 0.15%. Those are Xiaomi’s internal numbers, not independent tests, and actual results will vary by device and conditions.
The AI side, under the HyperAI name, adds AI Voice Notes, AI Speech Recognition, AI Translate Conversation and AI Gallery Search — all limited to select models, languages and regions. On privacy, Xiaomi lists post-quantum encryption for key delivery in end-to-end encryption, plus on-device privacy storage and confidential cloud computing.

The three waves
One entry in the early wave stands out: “Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi” appears on Xiaomi’s own list. It is a Japan-only Leica phone rather than a Xiaomi-branded handset, and its presence is Xiaomi’s listing, not a sign of a wider Leica launch.
What it means in Pakistan
Several of the early-wave phones are already on sale here and already have pages on this site: the Redmi 17 5G, the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G, the POCO X8s and the POCO C95 Pro. The December wave adds the Redmi Note 14S. Owners of those phones should watch Settings for the update rather than waiting for a fixed date: Xiaomi says timing varies by model and region, and no Pakistan-specific date has been confirmed. Back up photos and chats before installing, as with any major Android version change.
